Just a week before their 13th anniversary on 20th December 2013, Hrithik Roshan announced something, enough to stun his fans all over India. One of the golden couples of Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan and Susanne Khan get separated. They have decided to end their 17 years of relationship. And media was riffed with speculations. Some alleged Hrithik’s affair with his co-stars whereas some saw this as a cheap publicity stunt.
Hrithik’s lawyers said “The court has granted a divorce to both of them. Today at around 10:30 am, all things were done. It was divorce by mutual consent”. They further added “They (Hrithik-Susanne) have got divorced in a very unique and elegant way where there is no alimony and not a single document drawn up between them”.
Further papers of their divorce were not published yet, but they hold joint custody of the two kids Hridaan and Hrehaan.
The real story: what they say
Hrithik shocked everyone with a tweet on December 13th, saying that “Sussanne has decided to separate from me and end our 17-year relationship. This is a very trying time for the entire family”. Just after this Susanne tweeted “We are two individuals who respect and care for each other and have made our own individual choices. We are parents to two wonderful kids and our responsibility remains to protect and take care of them. Nothing can change that. Would appreciate if we are given our privacy in such a time. Thank you for your warmth and concern for both of us and the family”.
Some of Susanne’s friends were angry after Hrithik’s statement that says “This is my greatest tribute to love. Susanne is and always will be the love of my life for the rest of my life. If her smiles are brighter without me my love for her must accomplish that. Unconditional.”
One of Susanne’s friends quoted “I am shocked that he sent out a statement like this. I am sorry, but it seems like he is seeking sympathy. Also, there was no need to stress that he still believes in the institution of marriage. Does that mean that Sussanne doesn’t? We are all shaken by his stance. She has stood by him through a lot of rough times. She never went to the press and ‘blamed’ him for anything and she expected the same from him”.
Warning signs of the split
Susanne abruptly left her father-in-law’s birthday celebration at the Blue Sea, Mumbai earlier in 2013. She didn’t even attend the Ganesh Visharjan ceremony of the family too. Hrithik’s tweeted saying, “Just a thought – your life is less about you and more about the people around u who love you!” Created lots of tongue-wagging too.
The 400 crore Alimony
On July 28th, 2014, Susanne reportedly demanded 400 Crore alimony from Hrithik. Hrithik who is a loving father and husband has agreed to give 380 Crore alimony to settle things elegantly.
However, we assume that the couple is still in love with each other, and we hope they get back together again
