Out of all the engineering branches, CSE & IT enjoy the best placement record. And the popular companies which come to recruit students in the UIET campus are Infosys and TCS.
If we talk about the packages for different branches, then it varies according to the caliber of a student. For example, the average package for CSE is Rs. 3.5-4 lakhs but if someone is looking for a high package of campus placement, then he needs to work really hard to get it. In 2018, the package and number of recruitments for UIET placement have fallen and there are certain reasons for this drop. The major reasons being the fluctuation in the USA market and the implementation of GST have compelled companies to recruit less number of employees. Also, the percentage of recruitment has fallen to 70% from the previous years. Not only this, according to NIRF ranking, UIET has slipped many places and finally settled out of top 100 educational institutions.
All the engineering branches except for CSE and IT have witnessed a fall in the percentage of placed students. The major reason for the fall in the biotech engineering is lack of research-oriented companies to visit the campus. In electrical and electronics, students do not take placements even after getting selected in companies during placement drive. Due to the less requirement of core companies in Mechanical and Electronics, there is a drop in the recuitment of employees.
