Molds are the form of fungus that occur naturally in the environment due to many reasons. Mold contains many small organisms and they can be black, white, orange, green and purple. Molds can be found outdoors and inside your homes. Outside mold is not much harmful to humans as compared to the inside mold.
But inside the homes, they are tiny and lightweight spores that travel through the air. If a person remains exposed to mold every day, then it causes them to inhale bacterias which leads to many diseases. Larger the number of mold spores more chances a person has to fall sick.
Let’s know what causes the mold to grow in the homes.
Humidity
According to Mold Cleaning Secrets, if the weathers remains humid for a few consecutive days, then there are hundred percent chances of mold forming in your home. If your home is near the sources where humidity in the air is naturally high such as the coast or another large body of water, then mold growth in your home could be a large problem. Sometimes people use humidifiers in their homes to keep the air fresh and clean. But some molds grow at the humidity level higher than 55%. If you are using a humidifier in your home then make sure to keep the humidity level below 55%.
Plumber Leakage
Every house has a problem with water leakage from pipes. This leakage is the primary source of mold growth in the house. Water leakage could be on the roof, kitchen, bathroom and other places where water pipes are laid. The worst leaks are those which go undetected and could grow large like inside a wall. To tackle water leakage in the house, look for quality plumber work from the professionals.
Condensation
Humidity is not the only weather condition that can grow mold, but cold surfaces can also create molds due to condensation. It usually occurs on cold metal pipes and cold concrete floors. Even where there is a carpet on the floor and the roof is painted with high-quality paints, mold can grow.
Poor Ventilation
Poor ventilation in the homes creates pockets of stagnant moist air which grows molds. Steam and water continuously evaporate in our rooms and create humidity. This humidity needs to be circulated outside through the windows to keep the moisture level balanced. Poor ventilation can mostly be seen in bathroom and kitchen.
