How to Lodge an Online FIR in UP

Steps to File Online First Information Report in Uttar Pradesh

  • Open “Google Chrome” browser and then click on the link “UP LOST ARTICLE REPORT APP”. After this click, you will be directed to the official website of UP police.
  • Once you entered UP police official website, then you need to register yourself as “New User” if you haven’t signed up earlier as a member. To register, you need to add your details such as Name, Email ID, and Mobile Number.
  • After registering, you will be directed to a new page where you will see three icons namely “Register Lost Report”, “View Registered Report” and “FAQ’s”. Since you are a new member so you need to click on “Register Lost Report” icon which is red in color.
  • Once this is done, then you will enter a new page where you will see your name in the text field. This has appeared since you have already registered in the first step. Add other details namely, Father’s name, Complainant’s address and mobile number to proceed. Then click on “Next” button given at the bottom right corner.
  • In the next section, you have to enter all the details related to “Place of Occurrence”. Details to enter in this section include “district”, “police station (where you are registering your FIR)”, and other brief information. After filling all this information, you need to click on the “Next” button to proceed.
  • After clicking on “Next” button, you will be asked to enter the details related to “lost articles”. Once you filled all these details, click on the “Submit” button. When you click on “Submit” button, then you will be asked to enter “OTP” which is sent on your registered mobile number.
  • In the next step, you need to click on “Confirm” button to complete the process of filing an online FIR in UP for a lost article. A PDF copy of FIR is sent to your email ID.
  • To check the status, click on the “Home” button which is given on the top. After clicking on this icon, click on “View Registered Report”. You will be able to see the list of all FIR that you have filed online.
